What to do if demons haunt you

Dear friends,

this may be a bit of an unusual topic for an article at Christmas, but perhaps because of the festive seasons and everybody being in such a “jolly” mood, I thought it may even be more difficult for people who struggle with these issues to address them in their family or in their church, so I wanted them to at least find information about it on the internet – of course, I am not the only one writing about this, but it’s always good to have confirmation from various sources and also, different styles of writing and different perspectives of the writers may help different people… only GOD knows.

To make it clear, the following is only going to be appropriate and helpful for you and I only recommend you do all of this if you are a CHRISTIAN.

For unbelievers, the only thing I can recommend is doing as much research as you need BEFORE you are ready to become a Christian, because if you get deliverance and are not born again, your situation will be much worse afterwards than it was before – and here’s why:

Luke 11: 24-26
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

Deliverance can not be recommended for a person who is not a Christian.

At the same time, JESUS CHRIST is the ONLY way you can be delivered of demonic oppression.

Believe me, I have tried everything else and nothing worked.

So if you want to get free from the devil, you have to give your life to CHRIST, it is the only way.
You see, the devil tries to tell you that you can be free and do what you want and that life is for living etc…

The truth is, there is NO WAY you can live your life for yourself – like it or not, believe it or not.
You have 2 options:
You can either be living your life for GOD and have HIS freedom and peace, but it also comes with obligations!
OR you can do what you want and that will automatically make you a slave of the devil.
That’s it.
No 3rd option.
A or B.

Anyhow, it is up to you and in my opinion and from my experience, there is only one smart choice to make.

Supposed you are saved and born again and still tormented by demons – what can you do?
First of all, it is a common error that Christians can not have demons, in fact, most of us do, but the good thing is, we also have the power and the tools to overcome them – other than unbelievers.
I have seen and heard many times that often when we get saved, the demonic attacks will at first be worse than ever before and it makes a lot of sense to me and it also matches my own experience – the devil doesn’t like to lose a soul to JESUS and he knows that when a person becomes a true, devoted, committed Christian for a longer period of time, then he will lose them forever.

So here are my best pieces of advice for anyone who is a Christian and suffers from demonic attacks:

1. Find the cause of the attacks
   There is always a cause or an open door  – sin, involvement or relation with a person being involved in the occult, New Age or occult practices, false religions and their practices like yoga, meditation, martial arts, owning cursed or occult or “magic” or nature religious objects (masks, statues of foreign gods), talisman, occult books, horoscopes, psychic readings, tarot or angel cards, idols of any kind, even icons or statues or pictures of catholic saints, rosary, connection to dead people/ family members, extreme beliefs in ungodly things such as veganism or ungodly hobbies, dancing, clubbing, drinking, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, addictions, compulsions, pornography, adultery, abortion, homosexuality, fornication, ouija boards, seances, mediums, birth stones, involvement in cults like catholicism, mormonism, Jehova’s Witnesses, Scientology, some typical souvenirs from Asian or eastern countries – cursed clothes, cursed food, books, music, films and then there are things your ancestors may have done like freemasonry, witchcraft or murder…
   It can be anything and if the list above doesn’t give you a clue or a hit, pray about it and ask THE HOLY SPIRIT to show you the unrepented sin in your life – but in most if not all cases, there will be some of the above in your life.
2. REPENT
   You need to be serious about wanting and deciding to give up the sin which is opening your life up to the devil.
   You must hate it and ask GOD’s forgiveness and if you are not sincere about it, you will not be delivered.
   There is no way you can fool GOD, HE knows you heart!
   This one is really a no brainer.
   Stop doing what got you into trouble or your trouble will not stop.
3. Get rid of all ungodly possessions
   Yes, that pretty Mexican Sun God that is giving your living room that special exotic flair needs to go, the African gods as well, even the herb mixture you bought in the Chinese Medicine Shop in Chinatown will not be doing you any good if you keep it.
   Dragons, snakes, masks, icons, crystals, candles, essences, potions, jewellery (this is important!! jewellery is often cursed and you need to ask THE HOLY SPIRIT about every piece of jewellery you own!!), books, music, clothes.
   What is very important is that you do not give these things away, either destroy them (if you can, burn them!) or throw them in the garbage, do not give them to anyone, not to charity either!
4. End all ungodly relationships.
   Whether they are sinful relationships or with someone who is an unbeliever, you need to end them.
   No more dating your ex, no more “friends with benefits”!
   Every person you ever had or are having sex with is one of your so called “soul ties” and when you have sex with someone, you become “one flesh” with them and that means all their demons will be allowed to enter you as well  – now that gave me something to work on and I had a lot of repenting and praying for GOD to cut soul ties to do! No matter how old you were or why you did it, this needs to be done if you want to be free!
   The bible is very clear about it, GOD hates fornication, adultery and all other kinds of sexual sin (do your research if you don’t believe me!).
   Nothing else than marriage and sex between husband and wife is acceptable to OUR FATHER.
   So no more sinful relationships! End them OR take them out of sin – and there is only one kind of relationship I can be talking about here – if you are a couple living together outside marriage, it is not what GOD wants for you.
   And you can call me narrow minded and conservative and whatever you like, in fact, I would tolerate many of these things if it were up to me to decide, but I am not making the rules, GOD does and HE did not and will not take my counsel about it, nor will HE ever care about what you think – all you need to decide is if you want to get free or not, if yes, you do what GOD says and if no, you keep doing what you are doing now.
   Very easy and simple.
   Furthermore, my tolerance or openness got me into a lot of trouble and from what I have learned, GOD doesn’t forbid these things because HE is so strict, but because we need to be inside HIS commandments so that HE can protect us, as soon as we step outside of the rules, the devil has a legal right to accuse us and to attack us.

   Ecclesiastes 10:8
   He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
   

   And there is absolutely no question or discussion about any homosexual relationship.
   GOD hates it and you will be spiritually in trouble when you do it.
   In fact, from what I learned, I personally believe that homosexuality itself is an evil spirit and you can be delivered from it if you choose so – you don’t have to live like that!

5. Study THE WORD and learn how to defeat the devil with scripture.
   This is the best way to win the battle.
   Why?
   Because it is the way JESUS did it.
   Nobody can improve on JESUS’ way.
   When the devil tempted HIM for 40 days in the desert, whenever he tried to tempt HIM, JESUS responded with scripture (you can read about it in the gospel of Matthew chapter 4)So many books of the bible are excellent sources to find out how the enemy attacks, how witchcraft works and what to do, go and look for them, I am sure THE HOLY SPIRIT will bring you to the exacts scriptures which help in your very case and it is always good to look for answers in THE BIBLE.
   You will be amazed how THE BOOK contains everything we ever need to know in order to live a good and free life!
   But GOD wants you to study it, wants you to consult HIS WORD for advice, for answers, for direction, for reproof, for instruction and for edification.
   HE wants you to seek HIM and HIS TRUTH.
   The best way to start is with THE BIBLE.
   I even recommend that you download an audio version of the bible and play it over yourself whenever you are at home-  not only will it help grow a wall of protection around you where the enemy and his demons can’t break through any longer, it will also bring you a better understanding of the contents of the bible and the word will sink into your heart better, the more you hear it, plus it will help you to get more faith, which you will need in order to defeat the enemy!
6. Pray!
   Not enough to go to your pastor or a deliverance minister, you yourself need to pray for your own deliverance, you need to develop and cultivate your own relationship with GOD and JESUS, nobody else can do that for you, they can only help you, but for instance during the night, when the attacks come, you have to do it alone and you will have to learn what to do, because not every time when the enemy attacks you will someone be there with you to help, THE HOLY SPIRIT, OUR HEAVENLY FATHER AND JESUS CHRIST though, they will always be there with you and for you, so the sooner you learn to call on them yourself without anyone else, the better.
7. Get information and help.
   Deliverance ministries, Christian teachers, Christian books about demons and deliverance, internet, blogs, videos, the more you learn, the less you can believe the lies and snares of the enemy! It is important that you do your research and let THE HOLY SPIRIT guide you and teach you what you need in order to get free.

   know if you have demons or how they could have got in, I recommend you spend
   a lot of time on this blog reading as much as you can, but specificly this article:

   These are some useful online sources, but there are so many more and the more research you yourself do, the better for your understanding and the more you understand, the better for your deliverance process
8. From my experience, it is also very helpful to belong to a local church and regularly go there and participate and it needs to be a Christian church which is not excluding, but even teaching about these subjects.
