Who is a prophet?

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Ignorance is the root cause of death.

Not many people decide that they want to serve the devil right from the beginning – at least I suppose that many wouldn’t sign up in the first place if they knew what they’re signing up for.
And the devil supports the same logic and that’s why he keeps us ignorant, uninformed, with all the tools he has – TV, the media, schools, systems of society really – they are all designed to numb us, keep us dumb, keep us from thinking and most of all, keep us away from church and from GOD.

He will never, ever tell us he is involved in something we are getting involved in.
If he was, we would stay away from it, now, wouldn’t we?
What he tries to do instead is fascinate us, make us curious, lure us…

Think about it.
How well and commonly recognized will you be when you start a chat in a group talking about the sermon in your church last Sunday?
And then compare the reaction of the audience (wherever it may be!!) to sharing your latest experience of astral traveling or what your tarot card reader said???
Which of the two will get people’s attention do you reckon?
Which story do you think will make you the star of the party?
Is talking about JESUS CHRIST not sadly even almost a guarantee to let you stand there alone very soon, everyone leaving the conversation with an excuse?
(Except perhaps in a Christian circle, but even there can it be a taboo to talk about THE LORD and everybody wants to rather talk about the food at the next church event…?)

If you don’t really truly diligently look for it, you will not find Christian doctrine anywhere in our education system or as a topic in our daily lives.
Whereas you will have no trouble at all to stumble upon New Age or false religion doctrines, not at all, you will be bombarded with what they are teaching and preaching everywhere.

Because that’s what the enemy wants us to see, to hear and most of all, to believe.

GOD is always respecting our free will.
HE will never impose on us.
Not so the other one, he will do anything to lead us astray.
And he is very good at it.
And he knows his stuff, he knows us!
Knows what is troubling and worrying us, what keeps us awake at night, knows our desires and deepest yearnings – they are always the same and always have been – for every human being, and both the devil and OUR GOD have answers for us, solutions, guidance, instructions.

Only that the devil is so much more all over the place and in our faces with his false remedies.
And he seems to be offering the easy way, the brighter path, the more fun  – the way without the suffering – and we are so prone to believe him, because what OUR FATHER suggests, the path of repentance, of sanctification, of crucifixion, of confession, of fasting, of correction, of changing our ways, is so often not pleasant, not comfortable and convenient, but hard…

And yet, it is the only way.

Only that we are not willing to believe that.

So even if we are studying THE WORD and looking for answers there, which not all of us do regularly (if we did, it would be much harder to fool us), we are willing to listen to words which come to us and which are NOT from GOD, but from the other one.

Just like he disguises himself and is transformed into an angel of light:

2 Corinthians 11: 13 – 15
¹³For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.¹⁴ And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.¹⁵ Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

No wonder we are deceived.
No wonder we don’t know the difference!

There are SO many so called prophets out there nowadays and they do not come from GOD, but from the devil!
Even our churches or perhaps especially our churches are full of them.
Because THE WORD OF GOD is sometimes very brutally honest and many things in there are hard to follow and hard to swallow – we are all sometimes hoping there would be an easier way to paradise, don’t we…?

But this is important, dear friends, there is only one truth and it is a matter of (eternal) life or death that we find it!!!

So what CAN we do?

My advice is:

• discern
• study
• compare the prophecies with scripture
• test the spirits
• let other Christians give their opinion
• examine how the messages came and compare this to how the prophets in the bible received messages
• watch out for “symptoms” of demonization
• read between the lines, listen for “too good to be true”
• examine the life of the prophet and the circumstances of his “messages”

if I had followed all these listed above, I would have known in an instant that I was talking to demons!

I channelled messages from what I thought were angelic beings and even published them in a blog online – they were very beautiful and wise messages, very encouraging, talking about peace and healing and so full of wisdom – I was even very impressed myself when I read them!

And yet, they were definitely not from GOD, but from demons.
I didn’t know that at the time.
Neither did many others who read them.
And there are still so many blogs like the one I had out there, so many people channelling these demons and so many souls that are being lead astray and away from GOD – I pray for them every day, for everyone who is as lost as I was – that they would find THE TRUTH and get saved as well!

So if we are looking for the truth, it’s always good to look where GOD has put it for us:
in the bible.

What does the bible say about prophets?

2 Peter 1:21 – For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.

1 John 4:1 – Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Ezekiel 13
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.
5 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.
6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
7 Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?
8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.

Please don’t read or believe these New Age “prophets” / messengers / angel readers – whatever they call themselves.

No matter how beautiful and promising their messages sound (and that is true for many false Christian prophets as well!), don’t be deceived!
You can end up in deep, serious spiritual trouble if you believe them!

You can “rule out” many of them by the first criteria from 2 Peter 1: 21 – first and foremost, they have to be men of GOD.

None of the New Age people are.
They all believe in “the god source” or in “the spirit” or in “the universe”, if not explicitly propagating false religions, the god of the New Age is not OUR GOD, but his counterfeit, they even have a false and fake Jesus, who is not JESUS CHRIST THE MESSIAH.
Satan has a copy for everything and everyone GOD has, it is the only thing he can do, copy, for he can not create.
Nothing.
Never.

There is only ONE creator, GOD OUR  FATHER, only ONE TRUTH and only ONE WAY:
JESUS CHRIST.

And even the ones in the churches, please be careful, because there are many, many false teachers and deceivers out there.

You need to be vigilant and watchful always, dear friends.

1 Peter 5:8
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
