Dear friends,
have you ever been to Israel?
If you have, you must have come across the evidence that proves JESUS lived there more than 2000 years ago.
Even if you are not a Christian.
It’s all over the place.
Perhaps you have even wondered if you should find out more about HIM or about Christianity if you have visited Jerusalem or one of the many other sites mentioned in THE BIBLE.
Of course, there are many other things to see in Israel and Palestine, but you will hardly not have come across the person and the history of JESUS CHRIST.
For me, it had been a desire and a dream to go there for a long time.
Not that I had any doubt about what the bible said happened – I believe with all my heart that it is ALL true and I had already believed that 100% firmly before I went.
And yet…
When I heard all these people telling stories about Jesus, about all the proof that had been found, about what exactly they found and where – I am not a historian and not a scientist, but all these numerous sights and relicts I saw there did leave a massive impression on me.
Ever since, I can not even read any story in the New Testament, some even in the old testament, without thinking, I was there, I saw the proof that it really happened with my own eyes, and I must say, it gave my faith a new dimension, I feel closer to THE LORD since I saw where HE lived, sat where HE sat… it was like getting to know HIM better and it was a very sacred time that I spent there.
One of the places where I personally felt the presence of HIM, of THE HOLY SPIRIT, the most, was The Garden Tomb, which is said to be the real place where JESUS was crucified and buried, opposed to the busy and overcrowded and highly commercialized Church of The Sepulchre – for me, I had no doubt where the real place was – but then again, for my faith, it doesn’t really make a difference – I came to get closer to HIM, that’s what you do when you want to deepen a relationship with someone, isn’t it, you visit their origin in order to gain a better understanding about where they are coming from, hoping to learn better who they are – and I think I have.
Like I said, for me, it makes no difference which of the two was the true place of the crucifixion, what made a difference though is to visit so many places who actually do tell the tale, just to name very few, to walk the Via Dolorosa in memoriam of JESUS’ suffering, to go to the Mount of Olives, to see the Garden of Gethsemane, to imagine how HE would have prayed here before HE got betrayed, to visit the Upper Room and to spend time in the Garden Tomb, they actually keep it as a beautiful garden and the atmosphere is very peaceful, quiet and sacred there…
I met THE LORD in many places in Israel, more and closer than I had ever met HIM before anywhere else – it may be me or it may be the locality, I don’t know… I can only recommend going there – it is my recommendation for everyone, not only for Christians.
JESUS CHRIST is so unique and so different from other historic figures that people adore(d) and HIS life is worth exploring everywhere and in every way.
And if that’s not enough to make you want to find out more about HIM, here is another TRUTH, which is ONLY TRUE about JESUS CHRIST and when you have seen so much evidence for every other story in the bible, it will also be easier for you to believe this:
The fact that HE IS ALIVE, because HE has risen from the dead on the 3rd day after HIS crucifixion.
NOBODY ELSE has ever done that.
And that’s not the only unique and very special thing about OUR LORD JESUS.
So where are you going to start your research, my friend?
What is the first thing about JESUS you are going to find out more about?
Where are you going to start looking for answers about HIM or even from HIM?
I pray that you will be blessed by this article and that THE LORD will bless you abundantly in every area of your life, that HE will keep you and shine HIS face upon you and bring you peace. In JESUS’ name. Amen
