Dear friends,
in the world, it’s all about one of the Delphic Maxims “know thyself” and everybody is attending courses, sessions and reading thousands of self-help books about which Enneagram Type they are or what their star sign says about their personality…
I’ve been there, I’ve even been much worse and worked in the field and “helped” people “find themselves” for many years – only that nobody finds themselves that way.
Nobody.
All they ever achieve with these methods is alienating themselves from their true nature, from who they are in GOD, from learning from HIM who HE made them to be.
And that’s exactly the point!
We are supposed to be so self-absorbed, it is supposed to eat up all our time, it is supposed to be the main focus in our lives.
Some of us have already discovered that there are many distractions that the world has to offer so that we won’t find and know GOD.
Today, I want to point out to you what I came to see – that there is no walk with GOD without having encountered the evil one.
And please don’t get me wrong, this is not to encourage you to go looking for the enemy, but you may want to look for his works, his fruit in your life…
Perhaps you will find this statement (or me) to be surprising, wrong, provoking or even (too) blunt, and you can say all these things against it or against me, but one thing you can’t accuse me of is of not knowing the devil, his plots and his agents. I have not only met him, but I have studied him and them, I had to, for many years, and I am here to tell you today:
If you have never ever experienced spiritual warfare, if you’ve never had to face the devil, have never had attacks from the enemy, that automatically means you are in his hand.
Why is that so?
It is very simple.
If you do as he wants, which means in other words, if you live in SIN, he will leave you alone.
You may not even know him – which would be the biggest catastrophe possible – and you would be in good company with so many people on earth, I even think that the majority of mankind believes that the devil is not even real, that witches and curses and magic are only happening in fairy tales or in disney movies… they do not know who their enemy IS!
Not only for peace and contentment, but also for our eternal future, it is so important to know our enemy, to even study him so that he will no longer be able to deceive us.
If the devil doesn’t bother you and never has, this is actually not a good sign, it is even something you should be worried about!
Because there are only 2 conditions under which the devil will leave you alone.
#1 he has nothing to worry about
This is the case when he knows for sure with absolute certainty that you will be going to hell and that you are “his” – by the way, this is something you will hear often from him or from demons as an objection when you try to get rid of them or of the devil himself.
They think in territory, property, power.
You are their possession.
It’s no coincidence that we call it being demon possessed.
They believe they own you.
And you are nothing more to them than possessions are to us, in fact, you are their FOOD and I mean this literally.
They feed off you.
Every sin you commit gives them delight.
And also every negative feeling you have.
Because that’s where they lead you – all the time is this the destination: suffering, illness, damage, destruction, depression —–> death.
Nobody, and I repeat, NOBODY can live for the devil and not be destroyed.
The devil doesn’t love.
He only hates.
He wants to have power.
The reason why he is so obsessed with power is because he has none.
Because GOD has ALL THE POWER
Psalm 62:11
God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
In fact, if you ever have to speak to the devil, you can tell him that – but only if you really want to upset him.
There is nothing which infuriates the devil more than being reminded of the truth that he has no power.
And he does what he can to forget this.
He does this by fooling himself.
That’s right, he is not only fooling others, he is also even deceiving himself by chasing after cheap, fake copies of GOD’s POWER OF CREATION.
He knows that he doesn’t have this power, doesn’t have true power.
He pretends he doesn’t care and goes after the “power” he does have, which is not even power, but really violence:
he can dominate, manipulate and intimidate.
In fact, when you come across any of these, you have come across the devil, black magic, witchcraft.
The devil and his agents get a thrill out of doing these and they fool themselves into believing that when they dominate another person and force them to do something they want them to do, they have power over them.
It’s not even true!
When we are addicted for instance, that doesn’t mean that they have power over us!
It only means that they have made us sick and BECAUSE we are sick, aka addicted, we are doing this, NOT because they have power over us – if they had power over us, we would do what they tell us to do WITHOUT them having to use force.
Now THAT’S true power.
GOD has true power.
We do what HE says ONLY because HE says so.
HE doesn’t have to threaten us, HE doesn’t have to put us on drugs, doesn’t have to punish us when we disobey, we just do it, because HE is GOD and because we want to serve HIM. Plus, HE will never, never, ever ask us to do something evil or something wrong – not so the enemy…
This is another proof for what I am saying.
If you think you are living for GOD and you have never encountered any obstruction by the devil, I will prove you wrong – because it’s simply not possible! Even JESUS was tempted by the devil!!! Do you think you wouldn’t be? Do you think the devil can afford to lose a single soul without fight???
Ok, so here’s the challenge: if you think you are on GOD’s side and have never been attacked for the devil, I claim that you are wrong.
And my claim is further that there is some serious, MAJOR sin in your life.
I don’t know what it is.
YOU know.
All I know is the way the devil works.
And if you were living a holy life, he would attack you or have attacked you at some point.
There is no exception.
And I guarantee if you honestly and seriously look for sin in your life, you will find it – if you have not been attacked by the devil.
Except…
There is only one other group of people you can belong to and live your life for GOD without the devil bothering you:
#2 you have battled and defeated the devil in your life already
Then he will leave you alone.
It’s even in the bible:
James 4:7
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
It’s the only way.
You have to fight him, otherwise he will either still be bothering you or if he leaves you alone, that’s not a good sign!
Only when you have been victorious and have been victorious for a while and over more than one issue, only then will the devil learn to respect you and will he be willing to understand and honor that you are a child of THE MOST HIGH, that you belong to HIM and that there is nothing he can do to get you!
And this will not even be easy, because he will do what he can to tempt you and to fight for you.
He is very good at presenting temptations and stumbling blocks and at using the world around you to frustrate you – look at the book of Job… this is not a single case, it describes the way the devil operates!
He will do all that GOD allows him to do to test your faith and to try to pull you down to his side.
And there is actually no way to be on GOD’s side other than having defeated the devil.
How else will you know right from wrong?
How are you going to tell a false from a true prophet or teacher?
Do you think you can discern the events of the last time described in the bible without having studied and encountered both sides?
Are you sure you won’t be falling for the snares of the antichrist, of “false Christs, false prophets”, who as the bible states “will deceive even the very elect”?
Matthew 24:24
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
That’s US, friends, Christians!!
To deceive unbelievers won’t be hard for him, but how will he deceive the ones that know JESUS, the ones that know their bibles?
Well, he will have to be more sophisticated, more subtle, more clever…
And it’s happening all over the world, INSIDE the churches!
A little heresy here, a little diluting of a bible truth there, a “tiny subtle” divination next Sunday, then after that, the pastor will tell you that you are your own gods… focusing on the sensual side of “church”, great music, nice food for refreshments, good “programs” with world famous speakers… and on and on and on… and slowly and gradually, moving further and further away from The Word and from the main focus every church is supposed to have: JESUS CHRIST.
That’s how he does it.
And a pastor who has never encountered spiritual warfare or even believes that Christians can’t have demons… this pastor is NOT serving GOD, he is serving the devil!
He may not know it, but to 100%, this pastor is NOT a man of GOD.
He is either deliberately serving satan or he is so lukewarm and never preaching even half the truth, so that the devil simply lets him do what he does – and the devil may even grow his church, may even make it a MEGA-church, so that people would go there and wouldn’t go to where the REAL TRUTH is spoken and taught.
There you have it.
Like it or not, but if you have never encountered the devil himself or one of his agents or demons, you have not been truly saved.
When we get saved, that’s when the warfare truly BEGINS.
That’s when the idols and demons and false gods we have been serving before our salvation will turn against us, will show their true colours and when they will ATTACK.
Being saved, being BORN AGAIN is an event you will REMEMBER!
You will most likely even remember the date and you will be able to recall what exactly happened!
And you will recall that it was life changing!
There will be so many things which have never been the same ever since!
You will not do certain (sinful) things you have done before any longer, will not go where you went before, will not talk like you used to talk… even if you were a child when you gave your life to JESUS, you will remember it!
Dear friends, this is not a joke, I am not joking, neither is GOD or the devil and when I ask you if you are truly saved and born again, I don’t mean to upset you or offend you, I am truly concerned about your spiritual and eternal welfare and the good thing is, you don’t even have to tell anyone…
You could have gone to church all your life, you can even be a pastor and yet, you are not saved – and this is only between you and GOD, please ask yourself right now:
Are you 100% sure that you are truly saved and born again?
If you believe that you have not truly given your life to JESUS CHRIST up to this day, you can do so right now by saying this prayer (or use your own words) sincerely from your heart:
“Dear Heavenly Father, I acknowledge and confess that I have not lived my life for YOU to this day, but have been living for myself and in sin and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins just as I forgive others. I need YOU in my life; I want YOU in my life.
I recognize the completed work of YOUR only begotten Son JESUS CHRIST in giving HIS life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart JESUS is LORD and that HE was raised from the dead and ask for YOUR forgiveness, which YOU have made freely available to me through this sacrifice.
Come into my life now, LORD!
Take up residence in my heart and be my KING, my LORD, and my SAVIOUR!
From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow YOU all the days of my life. Those days are in YOUR hands.
I ask this Jesus name.
Amen.”
