Are you prayed up?

Dear friends,

as I was going through my trials, it was hard to find the amount and the quality of prayer support I felt I needed.
Ok, fair enough, it was partly because I was too shy or too ashamed to ask or sometimes I didn’t ask them or didn’t ask them more to stay with me….
But also, some ministries which offer prayer, I felt that their offer was not genuine, that they put this offer out there in order to (ab)use it to gain personal information about people and then later ask them for money.

I may have been wrong and overly cautious or too shy sometimes.

But sometimes and in some cases, it may also be that THE HOLY SPIRIT protected me from even more abuse and manipulation.

Anyhow, I don’t feel or believe that prayer should be connected to remuneration or financial reward, not even donations – we are supposed to freely give what we have received!

Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

There is someone from across the Big Lake praying for me at the moment and I cannot tell you how soothing, relieving and comforting this is.

In SO many ways.

This person offered to help me and I asked them to pray for me and I also asked them to ask their spouse or others in their church to join in as well.

And they have and they are – I literally feel supported in my battles like never before!

Don’t get me wrong, I have not stopped praying for myself since they came into the scene and helped me out, on the contrary, my prayers have become stronger and more fervent as well, BECAUSE I feel supported did I have more strength and power to pray for myself!

I think this is so crucial!

GOD will not do it for us if we don’t do our part!

This is so true!

When other people pray for them, I see many people making the mistake of ceasing to pray for themselves and sit back and put their destiny into the hands of their pastor or friends who pray for them.

I don’t think this is what we ought to do, for so many reasons:

1. First of all, Christianity is not about religion, but about relationship
   OUR GOD wants to be connected to us personally, wants to be in an intimate and constant exchange with us, wants to be part of our lives wherever we are, whatever we do and whatever challenge we may face! HE also wants to be with us when we are happy and grateful and we mustn’t forget that prayer can also be a prayer of thanksgiving and appreciation!
2. It is OUR faith we need to build, not the faith of others.
   What do I mean by that?
   First and foremost, WE need to ask GOD for what we need and believe HIM to hear us and to answer our prayers.
   It is OUR life we are living and the challenges we face are “designed”, yes made!, for US, so that we can grow.
   GOD knows exactly what we can take and what we need to learn next and how much HE can expect of us and HE is always there to guide us, to take us through and it may be part of our personal growth to learn to ask for help, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that HE answered THEIR prayers!
3. Sometimes GOD has something completely different in mind for us than we do and we never know where HE wants lead us if we don’t let HIM, if we don’t personally learn to listen to what HE is telling us, if we don’t learn to communicate and commune with OUR FATHER on a regular and very personal and intimate level!
   It is great when others pray for us, even when they may receive a prophecy from GOD for us, but they, too, are only human and they can err  – or deliberately lead us astray and even if we leave the cases when the latter happens out, it is US who need to learn to hear GOD’s voice, to receive HIS directions, not our pastor or someone else – they may be very benevolent but they have not been where we have been, they have not gone through what we have gone through.
   GOD was there ALL the way with us and HE even knows the end, knows what we will do next before we know ourselves, knows where we will end up, how we will come out and what we should do.
   We need to ask HIM directly and need to listen to what HE is telling us directly.
4. When we pray and speak with GOD, we not only develop our relationship with HIM, but also our spiritual gifts, because it can be during a time of prayer when GOD reveals something else to us, when we for instance are so desperate and we are praying and seeking THE LORD and we put our hand on a spot in our body which is hurting and we experience a spontaneous healing through laying hands on ourselves – that is nothing someone else can do for us!

I think there are many more benefits to pray as often as we can and I may write more about it, because prayer is the key to so many things.

But for today, I want to let you know that I am available if you need prayer support.

Not just because someone is doing the same for me, but also because we are all supposed to do it:

Or we could pray together for someone you love, for someone who needs healing, or salvation, or needs to be snatched out of the claws of the enemy.
