What is GOD saying?

Dear friends

Not sure what the typical local greeting is in your area, but here in my “ends”, we greet people we know well with “what are you saying?”….meaning what’s good, what’s going on with you?

I know some of you may say that GOD is not our “homie” – but I perceive that’s one aspect of HIM, one relationship HE also wants to have with us – like a very, very close friend, one we discuss everything with, one we talk to every day, even multiple times every day, one who knows all our issues, big or little, all our loved ones, secret or open, all our good and bad deeds – even if HE is the only one who knows them.

In my perception of how GOD wishes to relate to us, no matter is too trivial, too random or too small to discuss it with HIM, to take it to HIM or to ask HIM about it, ask HIS opinion, advice or just tell HIM our perspective and then see what HE says in return.

And I also “check in” with GOD.

Ask HIM what HE is up to, what’s on HIS heart, what HE wants to talk about – rather than just me ranting on about what’s not going right in my life, about what I want and need and where I see myself and how HE thinks I should get there – even if I talk about some matters of other people I care about – be it professionally or in my private life – it’s still mostly about what I want to talk or hear about.

What about HIS thoughts?
HIS concerns?
HIS plans and topics HE is interested in, projects HE wants me to work or focus on?

Me, I am used to responding to GOD when I read HIS word.

But do I take enough time to listen to HIS replies when I say or ask something?

I don’t think so.

I am trained and very mindful about listening to all my clients, making them feel respected, listened to and truly seen and heard – that’s probably what I am best at of all things in my entire life, I believe it is my gift, it is what makes clients truly value my time and my support – I don’t believe it is anything that I know more or better than any other Support Worker or therapist, I believe it is this ONE thing, that I listen to them and give them my undivided attention for the time we spend together…….it soothes and heals them like nothing else can!

But do I give the same to THE ONE who is more important than anyone else in my life?
The ONE who made me, who determines every single aspect of my destiny, my future, my wellbeing, even my eternity?
Unfortunately, the answer to these questions is clearly “No”.

In fact, I seem to give everyone else more attention and more of my time than HIM.
I don’t think I am truly putting HIM first………. even though I want to.
But then again, I often times want to do other things rather than listening or talking to GOD.
Am I the only one who finds it hard to pray for long?
Am I the only one who has no problem scrolling on Instagram for a long time, but cannot read their bible for a very long time?
Am I the only one who finds it hard to wait and watch (- like the disciples, not even 1 hour)…?

I don’t think I am the only one, at least that’s not what I am hearing…….

But I notice the difference in the results I see.

Not so much in my life………

Yes, GOD has done many things for me and I am grateful – at the same time, there are many, many unanswered prayers and “un-sorted” issues / areas in my life!

On the other hand, I see people who are publicly devoting more time to GOD, praying more than I do, teaching, preaching, writing for GOD – they seem to get better results, seem to have more “spiritual power”, more anointing and more grace on their lives.

Obviously, I can only see of their lives what I can see. I cannot know how happy, content, fulfilled, healed and at peace they are.
But it does seem that GOD is a rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM, as HE said in Hebrews 11:6.
The same chapter also talks about faith.
Am I happy with my faith?
If not, I could get more:

Romans 10:17

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

EVERYTHING I need, I could get from GOD.
Wisdom, understanding, knowledge, healing, provision, protection, love, salvation, truth, peace – you name it, only GOD has it!

And yet, HE is not always my #1 priority!

When I write it down like that, it almost seems stupid, doesn’t it?

And as if that’s not enough, even if I wasn’t listening to HIM or talking to HIM enough, still, absolutely nothing in my life would be different from what HE wants for me.

What GOD says, goes.

Even if it wasn’t an informal greeting, a way of checking in with HIM, we should still consult HIM about everything and ask for HIS view, opinion, perspective.
Ask HIM first, listen to HIM first, put HIM first.

I will work on that, friends.

What do you think?

I hope this will inspire, encourage, bless and heal you. And that THE LORD will bless you richly in all areas of your life. That HE will keep you and shine HIS face upon you and bring you peace. In JESUS’ name I pray. AMEN.

I have a friend who often calls me and says “so what is God saying to you?
    I say “about what?”
It’s a hard question to answer without going into long stories of specific instances.
It’s like asking “What is your wife saying to you?” or a very close friend….
It’s a constant and consistent relationship, which includes “My-my, that tree is pretty” or…”psst…don’t say that!”
But, yes…I sure try to listen after praying for guidance or something specific.

Thank you so much, Gary, that’s exactly what I mean, the level of intimacy of having those “little, random” conversations not only with our close loved ones, but also with GOD.
I think that’s one of the reasons why HE is using you so mightily and why you have this spiritual depth and maturity!!!
      GOD bless you Gary.
