The hugest “second best”

Dear friends

I am sure you have gone through “a lot” in your life.

Not sure what it was.

However, I am sure of one thing: if you are living your life with and for GOD, HE was there with you.

HE may not have changed it for you.

HE may not have reacted, responded and replied to your cries for help the way you would have wanted HIM to.

But HE was there ALL the time.

Loving you.

Listening.

Being your FATHER.

When we go through difficult times in life, they say that we can learn who our true friends are when we are not “on top of things”.

Who, or let me ask, how many people do you know who will be there with you and for you no matter what you have done, no matter what you are going through and no matter what it is that you lack or need?

Most of us will have experienced some people disappearing out of their lives faster than Speedy Gonzalez when difficulties arose and when we needed help instead of being able to be the giver of help, advice and support to them.

Not so GOD.

HE is there.

Always.

I am just saying this because I believe we need to be grateful.

Even for the beginning of the relationship we have, where HE saved us and gave us eternal life!

And then being there for us no matter what and no matter when.

This is GOD’s second best, in fact it is HIS MINIMUM STANDARD for our entire lives.
For every day, every night, every hour of our lives.

No other person will be there for us nonstop 24/7 and under ALL circumstances.

Only GOD will do that for us.

Only GOD loves us SO much.

But we tend to be angry at HIM for not doing more.

Don’t we?

And I am saying “we”, because I, too, have been ungrateful for HIM not to do more!!!

Had I ever put these expectations on anyone, a friend, a partner, even a professional support person, or a pastor, a prayer partner, whatever human being in whatever capacity they are in my life – ALL of them would not have fulfilled this expectation, EVER!

But here I am, expecting more than that from GOD ALL the time.

Yes, HE has spoiled me 🙂

I expect HIM to fix every problem I have and I get angry if HE doesn’t.

I know HE CAN.
But I also know that a good parent wouldn’t always say “yes”…..

And even parents get fed up or have to be absent for some reason.

Not so GOD.

HE is always there.

And I want to thank HIM today.

For being there.

For being there ALWAYS.

For never leaving or forsaking us / me.

Even that is something nobody else will ever do for us.

Even that is such a huge blessing.

And yet, it is only HIS smallest promise and HIS minimum standard…

I hope and pray that this will inspire, encourage, heal and bless you.
And that THE LORD will bless you abundantly in all areas of your life. That HE will keep you and shine HIS face upon you and bring you PEACE. In JESUS’ name I pray. AMEN.
