Can I pay for her?

Dear friends,

sometimes the language of love JESUS speaks is so easy to understand…

When I was on my way home from church on the bus today, there was a teenage girl who’s travel card wasn’t working, it was broken and she had a brief discussion with the driver and then, she was told to get off the bus as she couldn’t buy a ticket…

A man standing inside the bus said “wait!”.

He stepped towards the front and asked the driver “can I pay for her?”

THIS is JESUS in Action or is it not?

The man took out his credit card, held it on the scanner, there it was, the familiar “beep” followed by the green light in the machine- and then the girl got on.

She was free to come.

Free to go where she wanted to go.

Even though she wasn’t able to pay for herself, someone else did.

Just like OUR BELOVED JESUS has payed the price for us.

What a beautiful sequence to see on a Sunday – outside the church.

And what a beautiful way to demonstrate and live GOD’s love, to pass it forward.
