Not carnal…

Dear friends,

once we understand that everything happening in the spirit realm is influencing our lives in this realm, and that many, if not all challenges we are facing in our lives originate OR can be steered and altered from there, we have understood a great, great deal more of our existence.

With this understanding, we will all begin to wonder how we can participate in ruling our destinies…?

Right?

Wouldn’t it be great to be able to do so?

In fact, this is a desire which is in ALL of us.

And the enemy is winning many souls over false promises in this area.

Take horoscopes for instance. How many people do you know who will look at their horoscope, be it “just for fun” or if they truly believe in it?
I should have probably asked you how many people you know who don’t – would be easier to count – right?
Fortune telling, mediums, shamans, charmers… all of them are making their living from this desire of ours, from us yearning not to feel powerless and helpless but to be in control over our lives and destinies.
Or another way the enemy gets us in this area is when we are frustrated when we find out that we are NOT in control of our lives – and then we turn to means to escape from this life – all kinds of addictions, drugs, pornography, shopping, gambling, overeating… various ways to “switch us off” – and they all have one root cause: helplessness…

The truth is – and this is what we all have to face at one point in our lives – we have to! – at the latest will we find out when we die, but hopefully so much earlier than that! – the truth is that we are not in control of any area, moment, situation or outcome of our lives.

The earlier we learn and accept this, the better for us.

But it is essential that this learning is accompanied with some other aspect of the truth and that is where ALL power, control and direction is coming from: from GOD OUR FATHER.

When we learn both of these aspects of THE TRUTH at the same time, we are truly blessed, because in that case, we can skip the phase of total despair and frustration.

Some of us have to go through this phase though in order to come to the truth.

I hope this makes sense to someone…?

And the point where we start searching for the truth is very often a point where we are suffering and where we want a change and where we realize that we are unable to bring about this change in our lives… I believe we all have to go through this at some point in our lives…

Have you been there, my friend?

I have!

And then the analysis begins, the investigation… and we may find many causes… in most cases, we WILL ALL FIND people who truly, deeply hurt us.
Everybody has these people in their lives!
People who wronged us, abused us, lied to us, betrayed us, cursed us, violated us or even tried to kill us…

And yet, it is NOT the people who have damaged our lives!

It is THE SPIRIT in them!!!

It is SO important to understand this – without understanding this, we cannot outgrow our situation!

Take a war between two nations, for instance.
Every nation has soldiers.
Both countries are fighting for what they believe is a just cause or both nations believe it would be right for them to win.
Two soldiers are standing face to face and they are fighting.
One of them will win and one of them will loose.
And the one who wins the fight may have to face another soldier from the country of his enemy and he may win again or this time, it may be his turn to loose and die… the war is not caused by the single soldier, it is caused by the rulers of his country.
In the ancient times, the rulers were on the battlefield, in the front row, fighting with their people, risking their own lives for the causes they were fighting for or for defending their land from invasions… not anymore today… the rulers will not be there in the first row, they will not be the ones to die… but the soldier who is killing another soldier is not the one responsible for the war.
You may say that everybody has a choice nowadays whether they become a soldier or not.
True, at least in most countries.
At the same time, this is not about the person of the soldier, but to illustrate how the spirit of war originates in one place and is played out in another, how there is a spirit and a might behind the soldier.

We are all soldiers and servants.

Like it or not, believe it or not, even know it or not.

And there are only 2 camps / countries / kingdoms we are all fighting for and we are all on one side or the other:

we are either soldiers for GOD or for the devil.

There is no other way we can live our lives.

We are not our own and if you believe that, you have been deceived by the enemy.

And once you understand that the person who has wronged and hurt you is a victim themselves, everything will change… it will all start to make sense…

And most of all, you will be able to learn how to WIN, how to conquer and overcome what has been blocking and weighing you down aaaaallll this time!

You will start with forgiving the person – and setting yourself free from them.
Forgiveness is really the greatest favor you can do yourself!
If you don’t forgive, this thing will stick to you forever and you will never be able to truly move on. Forgiveness is the only way to release it rather than oppressing it. If you don’t forgive, the poison of this old hurt will keep eating you up on your inside – and if will kill your joy, your trust in other people and in love and in the goodness of life, perhaps even your faith… forgiveness will give you FREEDOM and PEACE. And it is also the only way to teach the other person a lesson – if they are willing and able to learn at all, they will most likely be able to learn from someone who is not attacking them.

Then, you will start to see where you have contributed to the problem and where you are identical with your offender. You will find the same sin in YOURSELF.
And this is where the greatest freedom begins.
You will realize that there is nothing you can do without GOD.
Without salvation and forgiveness of your sins through the sacrifice JESUS CHRIST gave on the cross – for YOU, for ME, for ALL OF US and for our sins.
You will understand that you are a sinner, just like your offender – we all are. We all come short compared to the glory of GOD!

And then you will come to see that without HIM, you can do nothing.

That without HIM, you can BE nothing and no one.

And most naturally, you cannot defeat, conquer, overcome and fight anything without HIM.

This is where life gets really juicy 🙂

Once you have learned that it is not YOU who will fight and win, but HE, it makes absolute and total sense to see that the weapons are not carnal, but mighty in GOD and that our battles are not fought here in this realm, that it is not “soldier against soldier”, but that there must be something else!

2 Corinthians 10: 3-5
³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
⁴ (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
⁵ Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

If you think about the worst thing in your life… what would change if you brought ALL thoughts about it to the obedience of CHRIST?
How could you even do that?
Would it help to do an inquiry about similar cases or stories in the bible? Or do you think that a search about values in there would help you, for instance forgiveness?

Shall we look at this example together?

Forgiveness is according to my concordance mentioned 7 times in the bible.
I will give you the scriptures here (in case you don’t have a concordance, but just to mention it, I got mine free as an app…), so here are the scriptures:

Psalms 130:4

Acts 13:38
Acts 26:10
Ephesians 1:7
Colossians 1:14

And if you look for the word in a slightly different form, for instance “forgive” instead of “forgiveness”, you will find more…

That’s how I do it, how I go about finding out what MY FATHER says and thinks about certain topics and issues.

And usually, I find something which really hits me.
Or challenges me.
And then I pray about it.
Let THE HOLY SPIRIT teach me… let HIM show me a NEW way of seeing this, a new way of thinking about it…

It is very healing.

And this is just one aspect of how to fight with non carnal weapons.

When you do this more, you will find patterns, more common, reoccurring themes in your thinking and in your reality… this is called a stronghold.

The enemy has built it in your mind so that you won’t be able to break it down and so that it would hinder you from seeing beyond, from experiencing freedom in CHRIST.

If you come across one, you do the same with it… you search your bible, search the internet, search for sermons on how to pull down strongholds… step by step, you will become stronger…

I promise that it will work – opposed to everything the enemy sells and will promise you – because the best thing about this promise is that it is not MY promise, but GOD’s promise to us ALL.

HE promised us the victory and rest and peace…

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
