As you may have noticed, this page is a lot about testimonies – I saw one the other week that moved me more than many other ones I had seen, perhaps because it was a bit similar to mine….?!
A woman who came out of witchcraft and is now a pastor spoke about her journey and she explained details about her deliverance, she disclosed that she had been delivered gradually and a little bit every time when she went up for prayer in her church or when they had done a special deliverance service.
However, during many occasions over many months, something happened which almost made her give up: the evil presence in her said right after the deliverance had taken place, even when she was still on the floor inside the church: “haha, I’m still here!” – and she was beginning to think that “this” is all not working!
She was asking GOD about it, telling HIM that she has been doing everything, praying, fasting, repenting and renouncing all her old practices and got rid of all the items – everything!
Still, she hadn’t been able to break free completely!
I can actually relate to that very well. It is extremely frustrating, and me, I would say, I am to some extent even now still on my deliverance journey (from my understanding it is a process and happens in phases and layers, just like healing or recovery from an addiction) – but what she shared about how she experienced a huge breakthrough made a lot of sense to me and I thought I’d share it with you, hopefully it will help someone (I will also post the link to her testimony on youtube below).
She said she experienced a major shift when a woman of GOD, who hadn’t prayed for her before, prayed for GOD to restore her soul.
She had then done some work with this woman over a few weeks / months about this.
I don’t recall exactly what they did, but here’s what I recommend from my experience of working with clients – in my “old life” as a therapist and also from speaking with many people who have been traumatized and suffer from all sorts of issues due to demonic oppression, which doesn’t necessarily have to be witchcraft, it can be addiction, depression, post traumatic stress etc…….:
I would “adapt” what she said into the following exercise / practice / meditation, call it what is most comfortable and suitable for you.
Take some quiet time alone, make sure you won’t be disturbed and switch your phone off if you can. Play the music and seek GOD’s presence…….. take your time………..then ask THE HOLY SPIRIT to take you to the aspect of your situation that needs healing the most today…………………….
When you are led to the situation in your past , go back to that situation and remember how you felt when you were experiencing it, what you saw, heard, who was with you…………………..
Then ask THE HOLY SPIRIT to come into this situation in your past and heal and restore everything that needs healing and restoration. Ask GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT to change your past and everything that happened ever since and resulted from this……………………
Be sensitive to what THE HOLY SPIRIT says, have a journal ready and write it down if you like.
Do this whole exercise prayerfully and attentive to what THE HOLY SPIRIT wants to address on this occasion and to what HE wants to tell you and listen and watch what happens……….
I recommend setting apart time for this regularly, as if you were making appointments with a therapist.
GOD is our healer and HE will restore and heal you.
